HAYDEN ISLAND MOORAGE OWNERS ASSOCIATION
TIME & PLACE: 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the
Moorage Office (C-7) located at 2630 N. Hayden Island Drive, Portland, Oregon,

Order Of Business
- Call to Order
- The President called the meeting to order at 19:00
and determined there was a quorum with four members present.
- Reading & Approval of the Minutes of Previous Meeting
- The Secretary had e-mailed minutes from the
previous meeting.
- Motioned, seconded and passed unanimously to
approve the previous Board Meeting minutes.
- Treasurer’s Report
- Dues: All dues are current.
- August Water: At $4,763.46, MTD 129% of budget and
YTD 122%.
- July Landscaping (Accrued in August): At
$1,897.50, MTD 126% of budget and YTD 95%.
- AugustTotal Expenses: 107.5% of budget YTD.
- September Water: At $5,857.23, MTD 158% of budget
and YTD 126%.
- August Landscaping (Accrued in Sept): At $1,802.50
MTD 113% of budget and YTD 93%.
- September Total Expenses: 109.4% of budget YTD.
- Cash reserves: $479,184.77 with Schwab.
- Cash Balance is $149,184.77
- Purchased GE Capital, .3% matures 2/7/2014,
$50,000
- Purchased Bank of India, .35% matures
4/2/2014, $50,000
- Annual insurance renewals arriving but expect
Travelers to increase 6% due to claim payoff.
- May need to increase dues this next year.
- Motioned, seconded and passed unanimously to
accept this Treasurer’s Report.
- Old Business: Standing Committee Reports

Rats & Vermin
·
Called pest control contractor. Recommended don’t use D-Con –
they die in bad places. Would use traps instead.

Bird feeders create issues too.
·
Secretary to send email recommending no bird feeders and don’t use
D-Con.

Garage Floors:
·
Brightway non responsive.
·
Won’t get to it this year now.
§
Lights:
·
Ballasts failing.
·
Have been replacing motion detector lights on garages and gazebos
and walkway lights.
·
Have on light pole with electrical problems, Will check with CW –
next week.
·
Walt suggested LEDs where practical.
·
Rick asked we do a count on the garage lights and consider
replacing and put it in as a budget item.

Replaced water valve at #14
·
JBMI Contacted about pump station. – ITT is their contractor –
Flite pumps is what he uses and recommends. Meeting with their maintenance
person this week

Posted and emailed Floating Home Contractor List

Email letter sent out concerning parking. Residents need to
contact BOD if they want to park outside longer term.
§
Email letter sent out about cats. Included section 4 of rules to
reiterate residents’ responsibilities concerning pets.
- Fire, Security And Safety
- Fence cut by break-in:
- Intruder evicted but fence still may be
broken.
- Nancy not avail to report.
- Architectural Review
- # 21 Boat has new tags.
- # 30 Boat will get a paint job and re-seal
teak surfaces.
- # 28 Trellis approved with condition that it
not be attached permanently to deck.
