
MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF WEST
HAYDEN ISLAND MOORAGE OWNERS ASSOCIATION
TIME & PLACE: Thursday, September 7, 2006, 7:00 PM at the
Moorage Office (C-7) located at 2630 N. Hayden Island Drive, Portland, Oregon,
97217.
Board Members Present:

- Mr. Steve Weisensee, Vice President
- Mr. C.W. Taylor, Vice President
- Ms. Pat Buescher, Treasurer
- Mr. Walt LeDoux, Secretary
Order Of Business
o The President called
the meeting to order and announced that with all Board Members present, a quorum
was established.
o Safety Rails – East
ramp done.
o West ramp transition
plate – not repaired yet.
o No parking signs
outside gate were stolen

Deliberations with HIBP Association.
§
Walt agreed with HIBP and HIBPA to not tow unless we check with
HIBP first.
§
HIBPA (Mike Trudeau) will get property description in the mean
time.
o Some issues to be
addressed in new business.
o Fisher #50 submitted
plans for an addition – approved by ARC
o No word back from
attorney on fines procedure.
o Need rules & fines
- New Business
- Oregon Clean Marina – Walt has checked into it and found a whole
list of red tape to get through to satisfy the requirements.
- Garage repair.
- The board deliberated over the choice of contractor.
- The board decided to allow the work to proceed only after making
sure the contractor is correctly licensed and bonded.
- Security issues.
- Pat asked that we look into additional security measures via a
committee.
- Steve pointed out that additional security equipment wasn’t
going to do much good unless we are more proactive with what
security measures we do have (IE giving out gate codes to the pizza
delivery guy).
- The President agreed and suggested that we need to follow the
security measures we have in place now. Security cameras and
fencing won’t help until we do that.
- Walt agreed that a committee would be a good idea – take their
recommendations and present them to the membership for a vote.
- Steve was chartered to expand his committee and make suggestions
for security measures we can implement.
- Walt suggested we do a quarterly code change - remote code, gate
code, and website password.
- Walt will write a small article for the newsletter.
- Work party
- From 1000 to 1400 and party at 1600 thereafter.
- Budget was 200 last year board offers 280 this year.
- Asking those not able to participate, please contribute.
- Sec asked to think about bi mo meetings – a big NO.
- HINOON – Pres spoke on our representation and our involvement in the
organization
- Normally meetings are held on 2nd Thursday of Month.
- They are working to form a neighborhood plan.
- They are also heavily involved in the Hayden Island construction
moratorium.
- We won’t give out email addresses but encourage WHIMOA members to
get involved.
- Reminder Time and Place for next Board Meeting.
- Day – First Thursday in October (Oct 5).
- Time – 1900 (7:00pm).
- Place – Moorage Office.
- Reminder Date and Time for next Annual Membership Meeting.
- Day - Tentatively set for the 4th Sunday in January
(January 28th, 2007). (The next 3 Superbowls are on the 1st
Sunday in Feb.)
- Time – Tentatively 1600 (4:00 PM).
