MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF WEST HAYDEN ISLAND MOORAGE OWNERS ASSOCIATION

TIME & PLACE:  7:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2016, 2016 at the Moorage Office (C-7) located at 2630 N. Hayden Island Drive, Portland, Oregon, 97217

 Board Members Present:

• Mr. Rick Ruffo, President
• Mr Brad Pendergraft, 1^st Vice President
• Mr Jim Pidgeon, 2^nd Vice President
• Ms. Nancy Lindgren,Treasurer
• Mr Walt LeDoux, Secretary

 Board Members Absent

• None

Order Of Business

• Call to Order

• The President called the meeting to order at 1905 (7:05 PM) and determined there was a quorum with all members present.

• New Business

• This Special Meeting was called to address the illegal removal of trees and vegetation on bank & uplands on East side of “cove”.
  • Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) was contacted.
    • Fines could result
    • They advised that since the fines go to the land owner WHIM would be fined and WHIM would have to take legal action to recover the fine from the offender (Our neighbor).

• The BOD discussed what our options are:
  • 1.  File a complaint with the City, we’d get the fine, and we’d have to recover the fine from the neighbor.
  • 2.  Confront the neighbor with a request that they replace all vegetation they removed.
  • 3.  Determine the location of the most southerly property marker to decide how much of our vegetation the neighbor removed.
  • 4.  Contact our attorney.

• The BOD deliberated further on options 3 & 4, feeling options 1 & 2 are premature at this time.
  • Moved, seconded & passed with 4 yes votes to perform option 3 before pursuing any further action.
  • Jim Pidgeon will contact a surveyor to determine the location of the marker.

• Adjourn:  Motioned, seconded and passed unanimously to adjourn meeting at 19:59 (7:59 PM).
